As many of you may be aware, Owen & Edwin’s headquarters is based on the lovely Sunshine Coast of Australia. With beaches, cafes and perfect outdoor activity weather for you and your best friend.
Whilst you don't often associate luxury dog products, luxury dog jackets, luxury dog blazers or anything luxury dog with the Sunshine Coast; we are so inspired by our influences across the world.
It might just be the happiest place in Australia, and with an environment like ours it's often hard to think what the rest of Australia is like.
Luckily, curiosity got the better of us and we went on a mighty excursion to see the who’s who of the dog world.
We have a favourite little birdie (P.S. Probably the best dog coach in the world) who knew exactly where to go. She gave us a red hot tip that we had to pack our bags and head to the land of the gigantic coat hanger!
That’s right, we jumped on a plane and went on a day trip to Sydney to see the wonderful boutiques of the dog world.
Amongst the industrious and cultural architecture, it was known that the pace of life in this city far exceeded that of the Sunshine Coast. Between the hustle and bustle of Australia’s largest city, we found the finest and most remarkable boutiques for man’s best friend.
Rupert & Dora
As we exited the CBD, we headed to beautiful Paddington to visit Rupert & Dora. After hearing about her remarkable range of beautiful designer dog beds (they need to be seen to be believed), we found it very hard to avoid this doggone paradise.
Upon arrival, we were amazed by the depth of ranges that is offered to their loyal clients. Nadja (founder and owner) named the store after her two Sharpei Crosses, Rupert & Dora, and the influence of her best friends has really made the store something special.
We were very impressed on all fronts by this store. From the shop windows to Nadja’s intricate knowledge of canine diet trends to the great range of products, this is a go-to location for the big dog owner. Check out the store here.
Dogue - Bondi Junction
After being very impressed by Rupert & Dora, we made our way out to Bondi Junction to the headquarters of Dogue.
As many of you would be aware, Dogue was Australia’s very first pet boutique founded by Simone Kingston in 1998 with her best friend, Gulliver.
Upon entering the store, we immediately felt that we were in the ultimate grooming destination for the sophisticated owner. Throughout the store, they feature an eclectic range of accessory for your best friend with vibrancy being the word that really popped out to us.
At the store, we were very impressed by the friendly staff and their overall philosophy for loving your best friend. For everything from bright accessories, puppy daycare and grooming, you can’t go wrong at Dogue. Check out the store here.
Pupnpussy - Surry Hills
After checking out two fantastic boutiques, we went out in style by ensuring that we made it to a little store that’s been making waves in the community.
Passing the leafy parks and the wide open streets, we finally made it to Surry Hills and got to Pupnpussy to catch up with owner and all-round good guy, Shane!
One thing that truly blew our mind about this store was how elegantly the space is utilised and merchandised. Shane’s taste in both his choice of products and visual merchandising has created a shop like no other we have visited.
What we loved was Shane’s passion for the CEO, FJ the French Bulldog, and his selection of great contemporary accessories for mans best friend. So, that was our big day in Sydney. Coming from the Sunshine Coast, we weren’t too sure what to expect in the Eastern suburbs and we were more than blown away. We would like to say a huge thanks to all those we met with on our trip, and we wish you all the best in the future!
